They was out several months ago when our furnace kept overheating and again today when it decided not to work and have been able to fix it for us each time.
Very professional and dependable service! Drace M. did a great job- Trustworthy and very polite tech! 👍🏼
Jordan is the best! Minuteman quoted an unbeatable price, came next day and right on time. Professional, communicative and knows their stuff. Couldn’t be happier, will be sure to use them in the future thanks Jordan!
Jordan was the best! He stuck with a difficult job until he figured out the problem and got it fixed. He kept me informed every step of the way, showed up when he said he would and charged me a fair price. I will definitely use Minuteman again.
Minuteman Services handled a panel upgrade at my place in Idaho Falls that had been flagged during a home inspection I did before refinancing. The technician was knowledgeable, pulled the permit without me having to ask, and the inspector signed off on everything without a single correction. For something I had been putting off for over a year it ended up being a one day job that went completely smoothly from start to finish. Definitely 110% satisfied with this company.
I had a mini split heating and a/c system installed. Travis, Trenton and Alisa were great! The system was installed, tested and running in just a day and a half. They were neat and careful and answered any questions I had. I would recommend them highly!
I can't say enough good stuff about Minuteman Services. They were able to give me a quote for a complete A/C System install over my existing furnace in about 20 minutes. The price was great and the work is flawless. The people are awesome, really pleasant, and I think our basement was cleaner when they left than when they started. They removed the furnace, built new duct work, installed the A/C, pulled new power of the panel, installed the compressor, ran the lines, charged, cleaned, insulated, tested, the works all in two days. Excellent work, highly recommend!
This company is always efficient and is so great to work with! I work for a property management company, so we work with them a lot, and I've never had any major issues.
I can't recommend this company enough. They are so fair honest and dependable. Great Communication.
Minuteman is the real deal..needed to upgrade my AC unit in preparation for the summer. The boys at Minuteman did a fantastic job installing a new heat pump for my family. If anyone ever has an HVAC problem over here in Idaho Falls definitely give them a call. Great customer service too.
I called Minuteman on aWednesday and they came out Friday to take a look at my AC. My AC has been struggling for awhile and needed an HVAC guy In Idaho Falls to look at my AC. They worked hard and they were able to fix my AC in house the same day. Never been happier
We needed to have a furnace looked at and repaired. We called in the morning and met the technician later on that morning. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. Very professional and reasonably priced. Will definitely use this business again and recommend them to others!
So many good things about this company! Quick response time, efficient , professional, and have gone above and beyond with super service. They installed a heat pump and mini splits throughout my home last summer. The install took two days and Jordan and Drace and the electricians were so respectful and quiet and cleaned up after themselves. This year I had the electricians install a bathroom exhaust fan with heat and a few other small projects around the house. Again, excellent work and great guys, particularly Shane and Matt. And I can’t forget Jazmyn in the office. She is so personable and takes care of business. Do not hesitate — Minuteman is the best.
Travis and his team communicated really well, were always on time and friendly. They even found a small leak in our crawl space, let me know and also were able to fix it. They worked within our budget to get our new furnace and AC installed. This is our second good experience with minuteman so deal with confidence!
About 8pm we noticed that the house was unusually cool so I went to my thermostat to check the temperature and realized that it wasnt the temp that we had it set to. So we called Minuteman services and they were here within the hour and diagnosed and fixed the issue. It was a very professional service and tech and we were extremely pleased in how they handled our emergency. Highly recommended!
Great service for Shayne and Aaron. Work really fast and cost was affordable. We wanted to power our outdoor kitchen area, we were thinking we'd do it ourselves but we are glad you called the professionals! They had great solutions for what we wanted, no damage to the house, really well done!
They did an electrical inspection for my mom and were very professional and worked with us would highly recommend
Superior service. Showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. Maintained communication with me every step of the way.
Jordan and Drace were amazing. They were on time, professional, and courteous. I’d highly recommend Minute Man.
Above and beyond! They tracked down the part I needed so I wasn't looking at a whole system replacement. STELLAR SERVICE!
Great to work with, I've used them to run HVAC in basements multiple times
having Jordan and his apprentice help me with my HVAC system was a great experience. Jordan answered all of my questions and concerns. I will definitely be having Jordan/Minuteman Services servicing anything in my home from now on, they were fantastic to work with, thank you!
Drace was magnificent. Most people just replace the board on our furnace he took the time to install a hood to prevent moisture getting to it so it will last longer. He definitely needs a raise 10/10
Great service. The technicians were courteous and professional. They put in a new heat pump in about 5 hours.
All very professional, kind and did an amazing job! Highly recommend!
Shayne does a wonderful job!! He has fixed electrical issues for me twice. Both times he was very informative and efficient. The second time Shayne came to fix an electrical problem, Aaron was with him and he also did a great job! I will use their service again.
Shayne and Dace were at my house fixing my furnace and the breaker. They were so awesome to work with. They had things determined and fixed in a very short time. I would recommend this company first and foremost!!! Great job guys!!!!
The service was great. Jordan was very promt and answered all my questions. Showed me the things he found and recommended diffent types of services.
Thanks Travis! My furnace stopped working while my husband was out of town. I called Minuteman to see when they could come out. They scheduled me for that afternoon. A little while later, Travis called and he was close to me so he came over. He looked at the furnace and found my filter was filled with gunk and said I needed to replace it. Of course there was a new one near by and he replaced it for me. He didn't even charge me for his time. Again thanks Travis for helping me and not making me feel stupid. Minuteman will always be the one I call!
Had Minute Man work on an issue with my smoke detectors. Shayne Baldwin did the work and he was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Would hire them again no worries and highly recommend Shayne and Minute Man. Arrived promptly and fees were reasonable. Also used them for some HVAC work last summer and same experience. Definitely would call them again if needed.
My furnace wouldn't fire up. I called Minutemen Services and Jordan was there within an hour. I was surprised at how fast they responded. Jordan was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He had it fixed and running within a half hour. He provided the assurance things were running well now. What a relief it is knowing that. I would recommend Minutemen Services and especially Jordan to everyone. Excellent service!
They hooked up us and got things fixed. They also provided some emergency space heaters to get through the night.
I was trying to troubleshoot my furnacemyself because we’re not able to budget in a service call right now. Jordan was amazing and walked me through what to do on the phone. He got our furnace working again and now we have running heat after a VERY cold night and morning!! Thank you so much!! I will definitely be calling them if I need anything in the future!!
Travis fixed our furnace quickly and efficently! He was super nice too
Great service, Jordan was very professional, friendly and fast, he got my electric furnace working again like it’s supposed to!
Super impressed with the whole start to finish experience with minuteman services and Travis. We were left in a tough position from another company that left us without any heat but minuteman was able to help come up with a solution for our older house, get us on their schedule quickly and install all new duct work and heat pump system for a fair price. Highly recommend!
Having my furnace and multiple rooms shut off completely in the height of winter isn't great, I've used Minuteman before, but this was urgent. They got me on schedule same day! The technician was incredible. He diagnosed my electrical panel, replaced it at a fair price, and was back to being toasty in no time! Best electricians in Idaho Falls!
Travis, the sales guy, Trevor, one of the installers, and Jazmyn in the office were all professional, efficient, and kind.
Without a doubt the best company I have ever had the pleasure of working with! They continually stand behind their work. We have had nothing but positive experiences with Minute Man. 10/10 recommend them for any of your heating and cooling needs.
Excellent knowledge, fast repair and very personable. Reasonable pricing. Called in the morning and they were here by noon.
Minuteman relocated the air outlet for our dryer vent, and the experience was excellent. They worked quickly and delivered great results. Jordan, our technician, was friendly, helpful, and really attentive to the details.
Jordan, came and saved the day. Our furnace humidifier decided to wet itself and stop working. Jordan came out quick to diagnose the issue and came the next day to fix it. They are always great to work with anytime an unwanted surprise happens or an upgrade is needed.
Travis and Alonso were great! Along with their partner whose name I can’t remember. Very fast, incredibly competitive pricing, and job well done.
Our rental unit had its furnace fail (it was an old furnace). The team at minuteman was very responsive and was able to immediately go troubleshoot. We elected to have a couple other updates installed while they were working. Their work was great with great pricing compared to competitors. I would highly recommend them and they will be my go-to first call for any heating/cooling needs.
We called with a heating problem. Got us on the schedule very quick. Shayne came out was quick to fix the problem. He even put a new outlet in for us! This was our second time working with Shayne, great to work with! Will definitely call minuteman again.
Jordan came out right away and diagnosed it right away. He was very professional. I highly recommend Minute Man for your HVAC needs. Thank you Jordon
Great company, knowledgeable, Punctual all around great people most definitely have them return for future work
Great response and got my job done quickly. Noticed a potential problem down the road with the venting. Got ahold of me asap and we discussed the issue and they ultimately fixed it. Now my shop heats perfectly. Just a bunch of Great Guys to deal with. Thank You guys so much.
They are good at their job and always nice, but I just got a sick heater. Have to call them more than I'd like
This company was fantastic to work with from start to finish. I first had Ted come over to look at the work I needed done. He was very knowledgeable and professional! Matthew came over to complete four various electrical projects around the house. He added an RV outlet, replaced the doorbell, changed out light switches, and added a new outlet in my basement. He even kindly helped with an additional outlet problem on the spot that I forgot to initially mention. Each area he went to in my home was greatly cared for and he left it spotless. I asked for two business cards to tape to my breaker boxes. If I ever need help in the future, I will happily have them back! Thank you so much Ted and Matthew!
The young lady I talked to this morning was very helpful and took care of me quickly. Jordan, who came today was very kind and fixed this right away very pleased and happy with a service and will use you again. I hope I don’t need to, but now I know where to go.i thought the was a bit much he was only there 15 mins
The whole crew at MinuteMan has been great to work with. Everyone from estimating, install, service calls and billing. I've had them do an upgrade to a heat pump and new furnace as well as a propane heater and 50 amp plugs in the garage. I'm looking forward to having them do work for me in the future.
Excellent service, replied to texts on a weekend night with advice and a few things to try before coming out and fixing the issue! Travis indicated that it could be symptomatic of a failing heat exchanger, which was correct. We ended up having them come and replace the furnace 6mo later, working great! Price was as quoted and competitive with the others.
Shayne did a ton of work on our existing home. Things that needed fixed for years and splitting off a breaker box for a backup generator. Very happy with his work and was a great person to chat with as well! Minuteman will definitely be our first call for any other electrical needs.
Such an incredible company! Responded right away and got us scheduled same day! Thank you for keeping us warm all winter.
Prompt and respectful! They keep you well informed and show up when they say they will. Great experience!

I would recommend Minuteman without hesitation. Easy to work with, stand by their products and very knowledgeable.
Minuteman is the only HVAC service I call. They are always trustworthy, great price, and come out quickly. My furnace went out the day before Thanksgiving Eve and they answered my call requeat immediately and had my furnace fixed that day. I was so grateful and will not call anybody else for any future repairs. They are awesome!
Our tech Jordan was absolutely amazing. He was professional and well spoken. He was able to diagnose our furnace very quickly and had it fixed with in 20 minutes. We are very grateful to have heat again. I would recommend them and Jordan for all your HVAC needs.
We had our furnace replaced. They had reasonable price, showed up when they said they would, did a good job.
We had a full HVAC system replacement. Jason and the guys were great. We were trying to integrate the system with a 55 year old venting system that ended up causing problems and failing inspection, but the team solved the problem with a great solution. In all the team was great to work with
Called them up and they were very prompt and personable. The estimate was reasonable and they answered all of my questions. I don’t usually leave reviews, but these guys are where it’s at. Highly recommend using them. I tried another company prior and they were not as easy to work with.
This is best I've worked with. Affordable, knowledgeable, friendly and professional! I will definitely call on them again. Thank you guys.
Minuteman was great to work with. our furnace went out in the cooler time of year, and they were able to fit us in promptly. They always showed up on time, communicated very well, super friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

New Construction HVAC Frequently Asked Questions
Installing a new HVAC system during construction is one of the most important steps in ensuring long-term comfort, efficiency, and system reliability. Proper installation affects energy use, airflow, and future maintenance needs. Working with an experienced team helps avoid common issues and ensures the system is built to last.
A full HVAC installation for new construction includes equipment selection, duct design, and complete system setup. This process typically involves installing a furnace, air conditioner or heat pump, ductwork, ventilation components, and thermostats. A professional contractor begins by calculating the heating and cooling load of the space to choose the correct system size. Undersized systems may run constantly without reaching the desired temperature. Oversized systems may short cycle and wear down faster. The installation also includes running gas lines if required, adding condensate drains, and connecting refrigerant lines. Once everything is in place, the system is tested, airflow is balanced, and all controls are verified for proper function.
The contractor must also ensure the system complies with building codes and energy regulations. This may include coordinating with building inspectors, handling permit paperwork, and ensuring correct ventilation for gas appliances. Ducts must be sealed, insulated, and routed correctly to provide balanced airflow. Return air placement is also important for even circulation and proper system performance. If the system includes zoning, each area must be tested separately to ensure the dampers and controls work together. Before closing out the project, all components are inspected, and any issues are addressed. The goal is to turn over a system that is fully functional and ready to handle daily use immediately.
It’s important to choose a contractor who understands the build process. HVAC work needs to be completed in phases, and communication with the builder helps keep everything on schedule. Delays in HVAC installation can hold up drywall, inspections, and final walkthroughs. At the end of the job, the homeowner should receive a full breakdown of what was installed and how the system works. Proper documentation, warranty registration, and filter size information should also be included. A new construction HVAC system is a long-term investment, and starting with a clean, correctly installed system helps reduce future problems. Maintenance plans are often offered after installation to keep the system working efficiently.
Sizing HVAC equipment for a new build starts with a Manual J load calculation. This process looks at the square footage of the structure, the layout, insulation, windows, ceiling height, and other key factors. It’s not enough to size a system based only on square footage or guesswork. A properly sized system will run long enough to remove humidity and maintain consistent temperatures without overworking the equipment. The calculation determines how many BTUs of heating and cooling the space will require. From there, the technician selects the appropriate furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump to match the load.
Ductwork must also be designed to match the equipment and layout of the home. Undersized ducts restrict airflow and reduce efficiency. Oversized ducts can lower air velocity and reduce comfort. The layout also affects how the system balances air across different rooms or floors. Return air placement is just as important as supply vents. A good layout ensures even airflow and comfort in all living areas. Poor sizing or design can lead to rooms that are too hot or too cold, or systems that wear out early.
In addition to Manual J, contractors may use Manual D for duct design and Manual S to select equipment. These guidelines ensure the full system is engineered properly from end to end. Experienced HVAC contractors will verify the sizing calculations and ductwork layout before installation begins. Final testing and airflow balancing help confirm everything works as designed. Proper sizing is not just about performance, it also affects energy use, comfort, and long-term system durability.
The timeline for installing HVAC in a new construction home depends on the size of the project, the system type, and how early the HVAC contractor is involved. For a standard residential build, installation is typically done in phases. The first phase includes rough-in work, where ductwork, gas lines, and venting are installed before insulation and drywall. The second phase includes setting equipment like the furnace, AC unit, or heat pump. The final phase includes connecting refrigerant lines, setting thermostats, wiring controls, and testing the system. Each step must line up with the builder’s schedule and inspection checkpoints.
If the project is well-coordinated, most HVAC installations follow the framing and rough-in schedule with minimal delays. However, changes to the building plan, delays from other trades, or inspection issues can affect timing. That’s why we work directly with the builder or project manager to stay on track. Having a dedicated HVAC contractor on-site during key stages helps keep everything moving. We communicate clearly about what’s complete, what’s needed next, and what to expect at each step. Our team is used to working within tight timelines and coordinating with multiple crews on-site. This helps ensure a smooth build process with no HVAC-related hold-ups.
The total number of hours spent on-site can vary, but good planning makes a big difference. We start with accurate load calculations and duct layouts to reduce guesswork and rework. Equipment is ordered on time, and inspections are scheduled properly. Final startup and testing usually happen near project closeout. We make sure the entire system is tested, balanced, and working as designed. When HVAC is installed in phases and with the right planning, the entire process runs smoothly and on schedule.
Hiring an HVAC contractor during the early stages of construction ensures the system is planned correctly from the start. When HVAC is treated as an afterthought, the result is often poor airflow, inefficient layouts, and delays in the build schedule. Involving an HVAC team early allows for better coordination with framing, plumbing, and electrical work. It also allows for ideal placement of ductwork, return vents, outdoor equipment, and control systems. The contractor can identify conflicts early and avoid costly rework later in the project.
An HVAC contractor can also help builders and homeowners choose the best equipment for the space. This includes selecting between gas furnaces, electric heat pumps, ductless systems, or hybrid setups. Equipment should match the structure’s energy goals and long-term usage needs. The contractor also helps plan for zoning, ventilation, and smart thermostat compatibility. When HVAC is integrated into the building process, everything fits and functions the way it should. The system performs better and is easier to maintain.
In addition to the technical benefits, early HVAC planning helps keep inspections on track. Building inspectors check for proper duct sealing, clearance to combustibles, and correct venting. Getting it right the first time avoids failed inspections and costly delays. With HVAC installed correctly, drywall can go up on time, and the final walkthrough can move forward without last-minute fixes. Choosing the right contractor upfront means fewer problems later and a better experience for everyone involved in the build.
The best HVAC system for a new home depends on the structure, climate, insulation, and homeowner preferences. Common choices include forced air furnaces with central air, heat pumps, and ductless mini split systems. Each system has benefits depending on the layout of the home and energy goals. Central systems are common for traditional floor plans and offer even heating and cooling throughout the home. Heat pumps are efficient and provide both heating and cooling from a single unit. Ductless systems are ideal for zoned comfort or homes without space for ductwork. The right choice should be based on load calculations, energy efficiency requirements, and homeowner budget.
We help builders and homeowners weigh the pros and cons of each system during the planning phase. Ductwork, vent placement, and electrical capacity all influence system selection. For example, homes with multiple levels may benefit from zoning or variable-speed equipment for more control. Ductless systems offer flexibility for additions, garages, or rooms with limited space. We also consider local energy rebates and smart thermostat compatibility. Once a system type is chosen, we design the install for clean routing, proper airflow, and long-term durability. Every recommendation is based on performance, maintenance, and long-term value for the home.
Working with an experienced HVAC contractor ensures the system matches the structure. A poorly chosen system may struggle to heat or cool certain rooms and lead to high energy bills. That’s why we start with accurate sizing, layout planning, and full discussions with the client or builder. We can also plan for future upgrades like air purifiers, whole-home humidifiers, or surge protection. The goal is to provide a system that meets current needs and supports comfort for years to come. Choosing the right HVAC system from the start helps avoid costly changes later. Our team ensures the best fit for every home we build with.
Yes, smart thermostats can be installed in new construction homes and are often easier to set up during the initial build. Since wiring is still accessible and equipment is being installed fresh, our team can ensure the thermostat is compatible with the HVAC system from the beginning. Smart thermostats allow homeowners to control temperature from their phone, create schedules, and track energy usage. Many models also integrate with zoning systems and voice assistants like Alexa or Google Home. We install both Wi-Fi-enabled and learning thermostats based on homeowner preferences and system compatibility. Choosing the right thermostat depends on the type of HVAC system and how much control the homeowner wants. Compatibility is key to avoid issues after installation.
We help builders and owners choose a smart thermostat that works with the system’s staging, zoning, and voltage requirements. Some models only work with low-voltage systems, while others need a common wire (C-wire) for power. During new construction, it’s easy to run this wire to ensure future compatibility. If a system has multiple stages or zones, the thermostat must be able to control each one accurately. Our team configures the settings during startup, making sure each feature works properly before the final walkthrough. We also train the homeowner or builder on how to use the thermostat. This ensures the system is easy to manage and helps reduce energy use.
Installing a smart thermostat during the build also avoids the hassle of rewiring or drywall work later. The device blends into the finished space and is ready to use on day one. If the homeowner upgrades HVAC components in the future, the thermostat may need adjustments, but the main setup is done during construction. Builders often include smart thermostats in upgrade packages to offer more value. Our team ensures the install is clean, configured, and tested. We make smart control simple from the start of the project.
Ductwork design plays a major role in HVAC system performance, especially in new construction where everything is built from scratch. Proper duct layout ensures even airflow, reduced energy loss, and consistent room temperatures. Poor duct design can lead to pressure imbalances, noisy operation, and hot or cold spots throughout the home. During the planning phase, we create a duct design that matches the system size and the layout of the structure. This includes supply and return vent placement, duct diameter, and total system length. Every bend, branch, and register affects how the system performs. A properly designed system improves energy efficiency and comfort.
We start by calculating the heating and cooling load for each room. This determines how much airflow each space needs to stay comfortable year-round. Duct sizing is based on these calculations, and we route ducts in the most direct, efficient way possible. We avoid long runs, tight bends, and undersized trunk lines that restrict airflow. We also make sure return ducts are properly placed to avoid pressure issues and keep air moving evenly. Duct sealing and insulation are also important to prevent heat loss or gain, especially in attics or crawl spaces. Once installed, the system is tested and airflow is balanced.
Well-designed ductwork helps reduce system wear and tear over time. If airflow is restricted, the furnace or air conditioner has to work harder to push air, which can lead to early failure. Balanced airflow also prevents short cycling and keeps temperatures steady across the home. We verify all airflow at startup and make adjustments if needed. Investing in proper ductwork from the start saves money and avoids comfort issues later. That’s why we treat duct design as a core part of every new construction HVAC install. Our team builds it right so the system performs as expected from day one.
The final HVAC inspection is an important step in the new construction process. It ensures that the heating and cooling system was installed according to code and works properly. Inspectors look for proper duct sealing, secure equipment mounting, correct venting, and proper electrical and gas connections. If any part of the system does not meet code, the inspector will issue a correction notice that must be resolved before occupancy. We prepare each system for this inspection by reviewing every connection, verifying airflow, and checking equipment clearances. Our team also confirms that safety devices and shutoffs are installed correctly. This step ensures the HVAC system is safe and ready for use.
Before the inspector arrives, we perform our own system walkthrough and make final adjustments. This includes checking refrigerant levels, burner operation, thermostat programming, and airflow balance. We also inspect filter installation and drain lines to ensure nothing was missed. If the inspector finds a code violation, we respond quickly to make the correction and schedule a re-inspection. In most cases, our systems pass the first time due to careful planning and attention to detail. We also label panels and registers clearly for easy inspection access. The goal is to ensure the system meets all local and state requirements.
Once the system passes inspection, the builder can proceed with closing steps like drywall finishing, painting, and final walkthroughs. A passed HVAC inspection also gives the homeowner peace of mind knowing their system is code-compliant and built to last. We keep records of all inspections and make sure documentation is available if needed later. Having a clean, professional installation makes the entire process smoother. Our team is experienced in meeting inspection requirements and making sure everything is ready on time. We handle the details so you can focus on finishing the build.
